Mirror 2.0: Extended Chain with Defense Mapping
We've expanded Mirror's causal chain analysis from five blocks to seven, adding two new layers: Defense Mechanism and Compensatory Pattern.
What Changed
Mirror's core loop — the 7-block causal chain — now includes two additional analysis layers that significantly improve the accuracy of root-cause identification.
The New Blocks
- Defense Mechanism — Identifies the psychological defense activated by the trigger
- Compensatory Pattern — Maps the behavioral pattern that emerges as a response
"Understanding your defenses is the first step to dissolving them."
These additions allow Mirror to trace not just what triggered a reaction, but how the psyche organizes its response.
Why This Matters
Previous versions could identify the trigger and the emotional response, but the gap between them — the defense — was often implicit. By making it explicit, users gain insight into the mechanism of their reactivity, not just its content.
