At a glance
- What it is
BSV
A self-reflection web app. Mirror takes one situation through a seven-step chain, the Interview produces your Self Discovery Report, and Spark helps with practices and goals.
Mindsera
An AI journal that “reflects back”: you write, speak or scan a page, and it analyzes your entries for emotions and patterns over time. [1]
- Method
BSV
One named method in every conversation: attention, interpretation, emotion, body, defense, root belief, action.
Mindsera
A menu of tools: 52+ framework templates such as First Principles Thinking and Ikigai, plus custom frameworks and AI “Minds” that comment on your writing. [1]
- Memory
BSV
Remembers across conversations. The Portrait shows the facts BSV has learned about you, and you review them.
Mindsera
Four layers of memory and a Memory Profile: bullet-point summaries refreshed each night that you can view, edit, permanently delete, or switch off. [3]
- How you use it
BSV
Mirror takes one situation at a time, whenever you bring it, and spots patterns as situations add up.
Mindsera
Built for a daily practice: a journaling streak tracker, morning and evening rituals, and a weekly review email every Monday. [1]
- Free entry
BSV
The Interview is free and produces a Self Discovery Report summary. You also get 3 starter messages once; after that the Free plan has 0 monthly messages.
Mindsera
A free “Curious” plan with a minimal journal, habit tracker, tags, export and the 52+ frameworks. Its plan comparison marks every AI feature as paid. [2]
- Paid price
BSV
Basic $19/month (50 messages), Middle $49/month (200), Unlimited $199/month (soft cap 500). Annual is 12× monthly. A 14-day trial for first-time subscribers, capped at 20 messages.

BSV
The full Self Discovery Report: $9 once, 15 sections, credited if you start a subscription within 48 hours. Every paid plan includes it.
Mindsera
No one-time report is listed on its site as of October 2026. The paid plan includes a “living profile” of your traits based on the Big Five personality model. [1]
- Languages
BSV
Russian, English and Indonesian, across the interface and the conversations.
Mindsera
The App Store lists English and 11 more, including Japanese, Korean and Chinese. Russian and Indonesian are not in the list. [5]
- Platforms
BSV
A web app at app.basaev.com that you can install to your home screen. No App Store or Google Play app.
Mindsera
iPhone, Apple Watch, Android and web apps. US App Store: 4.8 from 280 ratings, as of October 9, 2026. [5]
- Stance on wellbeing
BSV
A self-reflection tool, not medical care. It tells you it’s an AI and has a crisis protocol with help lines.
Mindsera
Its store listing says Mindsera “is a self reflection tool and not a substitute for professional mental-health care”, and sends people to a qualified provider for crisis support. [5]
Where Mindsera is stronger
- Memory you can manage in detail. The Memory Profile shows what Mindsera remembers as bullet points refreshed each night; you can edit them, delete them permanently, or turn AI memory off with a toggle.
- Many ways in. 52+ framework templates and custom ones, built-in Minds such as Thinking Traps and Stoic Principles, a Big Five profile, and input by typing, voice, a voice call or a scanned page.
- Lower price and native apps. Genius is $14.99/month or $129/year against $19/month for BSV Basic, with apps for iPhone, Apple Watch and Android (4.8 from 280 ratings on the US App Store, 4.7 from 281 reviews on Google Play, October 9, 2026).
Where BSV is stronger
- One method instead of a menu. Every situation goes through the same seven steps, so you never have to choose a framework before you start.
- Russian and Indonesian. BSV’s interface and conversations work in Russian, English and Indonesian; Mindsera’s App Store language list includes neither.
- An Interview with a report. Four short turns, about 10 minutes and free, ending in a Self Discovery Report summary. The full 15-section report is $9 once, and every paid plan includes it.
Choose Mindsera if
- You enjoy choosing the lens for each entry, from First Principles Thinking to a Stoic comment on what you wrote.
- You want fine control over what the AI remembers, including switching memory off.
- You journal daily, by typing, voice or on paper, and like streaks, rituals and a Monday recap.
Choose BSV if
- You’d rather learn one way of looking at a situation and use it on whatever comes up than pick from 52 frameworks.
- You reflect in Russian or Indonesian. Mindsera’s FAQ says its AI features are “optimized for English”.
- You want a starting point before any subscription: a free 10-minute Interview that ends in a Self Discovery Report summary.
Using both, or switching
You can keep both. Mindsera can stay the place for daily entries and frameworks, and BSV the place you bring the situation that keeps repeating, to trace it from what caught your attention to what you did. Each product keeps its own memory, so BSV only knows what you tell it. If you’re moving over, the free Interview is the quickest way to give it a starting picture.
